BENVENUTO A INTRAGNA
Intragna is an island in the Alps, near the Lago Maggiore. The village opens on three valleys : the Centovalli which has paths of a length of more than 160 km and three cableways, the Valle Onsernone which has paths of a length of 100 km and the Valle Maggia which has paths for a length of more than 700 km. All the paths are well-maintained and signposted. They cater for walkers of all levels. There are various rivers for swimming and canoeing nearby. One of the river bridges is the only permanent "bungee jumping" facility in Switzerland. Additional sporting opportunities are golf, tennis and rock-climbing.
Intragna is a village with medieval and rural characteristics which has an historical pedestrian centre where you will find the place, the church and the highest bell tower of the Ticino. Most of the buildings are constructed in granite, giving the place a timeless elegance and making visitors feel to have stepped back in time to the 13th century, although it is only a few kilometers away from the world famous, internationally known regions of Lugano, Locarno, Ascona and Bellinzona.
